Peterson Family – Holiday

Family

What a year it has been for this lovely family. This is the 3rd shoot I’ve had the pleasure of doing for Alex and Sarah, and it just keeps getting better. For their holiday photos this year, they absolutely crushed it with the cutest ever matching pjs that have ever happened. And they put their little tiny sweetheart Elliott in a felt crown and read him Where the Wild Things Are. I’m not gonna lie, when I heard matching pjs, there was a concern, but they assured me 1) they were cute and 2) there would be an outfit change. Who knew that matching to this extent would actually kind of create its own neutral? As anyone who works with me knows, I’m all about a Stacy London mantra, it doesn’t have to match, it just has to go. But omg, apparently, it can match so much that it hits some kind of amazing cute overload threshold, and if you’re reciting nursery rhymes to your little one, I mean, it just doesn’t get any better. Well done Petersons.

After that, I wasn’t sure what would follow but turns out, there was a sweet little Christmas tree set up at a nursery a mere 5 blocks or so away from their place, so off we went. The sun came out from the rain clouds, we checked out wreaths, tiny ‘Charlie Brown’ trees, and some tall pines. Elliott was enjoying it all just as much as the grown-ups and well, it was pretty festive.
