One sleepy morning in Santa Barbara, a barista handed over a coffee with the words “have the greatest of days.” That small kindness cracked open a window of hope for me during a heavy season. This gesture in my early days living in the magical town of Santa Barbara nudged me back toward lightness and optimism. It captured the carefree, sunlit energy of a beach town where kids coast on cruisers and the air feels somehow a little lighter.
