Pink Elephants on Parade

I’ve really been enjoying my walks to and from work since I moved to a new location.  And of course, these strolls are also benefitting from longer daylight hours.  Tonight after a little after work get together I passed by the pink elephant car wash in the gorgeous dusk light and memories came flooding back.   I spent countless July 4ths coming down from Queen Anne hill to watch fireworks over Elliott Bay with my parents and Grandpa at an annual party.  I used to sleep in the car as we would creep down the hill in heavy traffic and when I saw the neon lights of the pink elephant I knew the freeway was close at hand and we’d be back at grandma and grandpa’s soon.
