Family Photography

KIND WORDS FROM PARENTS

"I have used Danielle for 3 different shoots now. She is the only photographer I see myself going to. She is easy going, sweet, professional, detail oriented, has an impeccable creative eye and works tirelessly on finding the right moments that bring out the best in her subjects. On the shoot day, she is a breeze to be around and has a way of helping all types feel comfortable in front of the lens. And I normally don't like having my picture taken. Like, ever. The photo session feels like we are all just hanging out so she seems to capture the best of us. I should also mention I have two wild boys (ages 5 & 2) and she is not intimidated at all at the idea of wrangling them. She has made herding cats some sort of art. I'm confident that once you book Danielle, you will be a repeat customer just as I am."

- Gina Windemuth

"Danielle was a delight to work with. She was familiar yet professional, able to set our nerves at ease and capture some great family shots. She was easy going and allowing our family, especially our two year old, the natural experience and fun time he needs in order to be captured organically. This was our first time spending money on family photos and they were SO worth it! The amount of pics we got is fantastic and their quality is superb. My only “problem” now is figuring out which ones to order and display, since my gut says not to wall paper our home with family photos... but I just might!"

- Ashley Richardson

"Hire Danielle! She's a gem! Her infectious enthusiasm and spirit made our experience, and you'll love the beautiful results. We wanted a maternity session that felt candid and authentic to us and she delivered what we hoped for and more. We don't often spend much on photography, but for special occasions, we feel good about making the investment. From the get-go, Danielle's eye for detail and professionalism made the day a breeze. She listened to all our preferences and concerns, and at our shoot it felt like we were just hanging out with a good friend who happened to be taking our pictures. She captured our feelings of joy, excitement, and love as we prepare for our baby's arrival. We will treasure our photos for years to come and we hope to work with Danielle again for future family photos!"

- Sarah Peterson

"Danielle and I were former co-workers when I reached out about a family shoot last Fall. Wanted something outdoors, as "natural" as a toddler and two sometimes frantic parents can be. Danielle is amazing. I knew her dedication and attention to perfection from our days working together but I had no idea there was so much talent and creativity pouring out of her. Her pictures are gorgeous. Her Instagram is insane. We'll be using her again."

Do you offer mini sessions?

At present time I am not offering mini-sessions. For me, getting to be able to invest time with each person I’m photographing is an essential part of the process. This allows me to achieve the authenticity I work to bring forth in every family’s session.

I'd love to schedule a session, What do i do next?

Right on! I'm excited to work with you. I'm currently booking for fall 2019 here. Please select an option on the booking page and I'll send through an agreement to get everything set up. The session is officially booked with a signed agreement and a 50% retainer payment.

2019 is a wrap for me on family photo sessions. If you're interested in something for 2020, please sign up through my email list so I can reach out when session dates get released.  Thank you!

What should I wear?

Once we start planning our session I'll send through a moodboard and some inspiration and tips to get you rolling. I generally work with Stacy London's style mantra: "It doesn't have to match, it just has to go!" And pro tip - neutrals make everyone look their best in any environment (and yes, denim & chambray count as neutrals. Hey yo!)

What if we get “bad” weather?

Each family session has a contingency rain date associated with it. If things start to look iffy before our shoot date, I'll make the call the Thursday before based on the forecast and we'll go from there. By booking the session, you're agreeing to be available for both the primary shoot date, and the backup (just in case).

What if I need to cancel?

Cancellations happen, but don't worry, there are a few things we can do. I will be as flexible as I can be in this process. By signing the agreement, we are both committing to keeping the date & time agreed upon, so while the retainer is non-refundable, there is the option to reschedule the shoot. If I'm unable to perform your shoot due to unforeseen reasons, I'll work to reschedule with you, if that isn't possible I'll refund your retainer and I'll work to get you referrals to other photographers in the area. Further details on the retainer and cancellations will be in your agreement.

How do I prep my family for the shoot?

I’ll be sending through a tips and tricks sheet along with your wardrobe inspo. It will help provide you with some ideas to get the kids ready and even some fun ways to give them things to do once we’re photographing. No matter what, just remember to have fun! I approach sessions as documented time that you’re spending with your family so try and engage with them and take the hour to focus your energy on one another. All that love will all come through the lens, even if someone throws a tantrum (hey, they happen).
