Women in Cinema at SIFF

I’m slowly but surely getting into the habit of bringing my camera everywhere.  It’s starting to get more familiar and less uncomfortable or embarrassing to pull out.  Tonight I brought it along to movie night.  SIFF is featuring women in cinema right now so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get together for some drinks and take in a movie.  Catherine Hardwicke’s “I Miss You Already” is a bit of a tear-jerker.  It follows two besties as they face some of life’s biggest challenges.  It had just the right dose of humor to keep you afloat and was oozing with heart from Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette.  It’s a beautiful story of friendship and also highlights our very human struggle to grapple with emotional complexities.
