Wendy & François – Pie Ranch

Weddings

When I first met Wendy at work I knew immediately we’d be pals.  I was completely drawn to her energy, humor, and her ability to keep perspective and have fun no matter what.  You might say, she has a certain joie de vivre. 🙂  She is in all honesty a complete firecracker of a woman – super smart, gorgeous and did I mention how funny this gal is?  Without getting too in the weeds on this, when we first started hanging out we were both in the throws of dating (a subject we talked about often), working at startup, and generally just trying to chart our paths to happiness. We’d enjoy drinks after work, talk about the day’s latest at the office, and we had hilarious lunch sessions where we could be heard saying things like “what does this even mean?” trying to decode some guy’s text/message from one of the various apps that had just appeared into existence.  It was a friendship I found hard to leave when I moved from the bay area.  It’s not often you connect with new friends so easily when you’re adults and I was grateful that we could commiserate often on a variety of topics.  I always hoped one day she’d find a guy that could be an amazing partner to walk through life with.  Little did I know that François would enter the picture just around the corner.  I got to meet him for the first time on their wedding day and I was so over the moon to discover he was such a perfect match for her – filled with just as much passion for life, wit and humor (if you saw their ‘save the date’ this was the first clue) . Their spectacular wedding day in Pescadero, CA brought all of this into focus in the most amazing way.  Getting ready started over at nearby Costanoa where the fog gently rolled out to reveal a perfect day.  Trees at their venue Pie Ranch were lined with photographs from their adventures together and with friends and family. And the details were nothing short of perfection (Wendy is so good at details you guys. It’s incredible).  Between the flowers, the food, the exquisite desserts (many made by their talented friends), the barn dancing, and the adorable ‘french toast’ given by François’ father, it was a day I’ll never forget.  I’m so happy for my friend and this wonderful guy she’s sharing her life with. Congratulations Wendy & François!
