It’s funny how with time, you learn so many more interesting things about yourself. For instance, I really really like time on my own and I freaking hate being over-scheduled. But when things are more spontaneous and the mood strikes I apparently like to do lots and lots of things. I had a jammed packed weekend including a surprise party, photo shoot, two appointments, dinner, time at the lake, and cocktails and I feel more refreshed than ever. Weird. Regardless, I’m more and more interested in the beauty that is an afternoon weekend cocktail and I was delighted by this Whiskey Peach concoction dreamt up over at one of my favorite spots, Percy’s in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood.
I had a glorious afternoon catching up with a friend passing through town and in a nutshell soaked up the little things this weekend…a kind bartender, the smell of lilacs everywhere, a couple of beautiful days, the scent of cedar in the woods, a drive in the car when you can yell your favorite song, conversations with strangers. It’s these things that I live for. The news is full of junk every single day. Hearts can grow heavy, easily as it all seems endless. But a simple pause, smile, and hug will transport and they matter just as much. Happy Sunday y’all. As we hit the week ahead, let’s remember the little things. XO.
