It’s a super special thing to photograph a couple for their wedding and then years later document a family session with their little one. I had such a great time with Bizzy, Nikhil and their little one Asa on a recent family photo adventure through Lake Temescal Regional Park in Oakland last month. We strolled along the windy path that surrounds the lake, stopped to take in a few teeny tiny steps by the tall majestic redwood trees, and then enjoyed a bit of time in the grassy sunny field near the picnic area. The color palette for this one was perfectly swoony, beautiful neutrals with a pop of gold. It was just right against the shades of green throughout the park. Incredibly honored to document these sweet family moments, especially early on when steps are so new and facial expressions are so telling.

I first photographed this sweet couple 5 years ago for their wedding weekend at the Ralston White Retreat in Mill Valley, and Bizzy has been a family friend since I can remember. It’s so beautiful to have things come full circle and be able to freeze a moment in time. Lucky to have this skillset that I get to share with others.
