It is such a special thing to photograph a couple for their wedding and then, years later, document a family session with their little one. I had the joy of photographing Bizzy, Nikhil, and their sweet kiddo Asa on a family photo adventure at Lake Temescal Regional Park in Oakland. We strolled the winding path around the lake, paused to take in a few tiny steps under the towering redwoods, and spent time in the grassy sunlit field near the picnic area. The color palette for this session was dreamy with soft neutrals and a golden pop that played beautifully against the greens of the park. Little ones change so quickly, and I love capturing those in-between details: the new steps, the curious looks, and the ways parents and kids connect in the moment.
I first photographed Bizzy and Nikhil five years ago during their wedding weekend at the Ralston White Retreat in Mill Valley. To come full circle and document them now as a family is such an honor. It is moments like these that remind me how lucky I am to do this work. I get to freeze time, tell stories, and share the joy of family photography here in Oakland and across the Bay Area.
