If you know me you know that I’ve got a lot of passions and interests but at the highest level, it’s all about experiences for me.  One of the biggest and most dear to me is the concept of coming together over a beautiful meal with awesome people in an amazing space to share ideas.  It connects us through the ages to the earliest of times people gathered by the fire to cook and tell stories.  It’s my dream to participate in and spend more time photographing these gatherings in the hopes that someday I can be able to document these experiences on a bigger scale, travel and be exposed to more and more of this amazing combination.  The prep, the presentation, the environment, the details, the people…all of it just makes me indescribably happy.  Every chance I get I’m trying to take steps to lead me in that direction and a couple of weekends ago I had the supreme pleasure of attending a farm to table lunch hosted by Gather Seattle at Matthews Winery in Woodinville.  It was an absolute dream.  Gather Seattle brings design, creativity, and food together in events across the city and this month they threw a beautiful meal prepared by Chef Micah Mowrey of Ecolibrium Farms with inspiring speakers Cassandra LaValle of Coco Kelley and Dara Oke who is about to launch Afriquette (check out this glorious insta in the meantime. I mean, omg.) – to say that I left feeling like the world made sense again would be an understatement.  The afternoon began with Bryan Otis of Matthews and Chef Micah telling us about their shared the vision for the farm and we had a tour of the grounds complete with tomato tasting.  We were then treated to appetizers and an incredible meal followed by a super inspiring Q & A session with Cassandra and Dara. The conversations around the tables were lovely and the experience of the day was unmatched.  I feel inspired and motivated in new and exciting ways that honestly feel hard to describe.  I can’t wait to be a part of more days like this.  Special thanks to Chloe of Gather for having me.  I am truly grateful that I was able to be a part of this day.
